Gemotions

The morning had a quality of pure, unadulterated pleasure. Elias stretched, the sun warming his back as he poked around in his grandfather's shed. He felt a delightful, unstoppable momentum, a feeling of possibility that made every breath a joy.

He unearthed a small wooden box, its lock rusted with age. Inside, nestled amongst old tools and faded documents, was a typed letter. The heading read, "Resignation." His grandfather, a man of routine and habit, had once written this.

Elias chuckled. It was almost as though a door had opened in his own mind, revealing secrets of a life that he had never even known existed. The very idea filled him with a potent sense of glee. He felt his blood race as he imagined his grandfather, young and determined, making a break from the ordinary.
