Gemotions

The world felt as if it were vibrating in sync with my own energy. I practically skipped into the grand, echoing foyer of the family home, much to the disapproval of my sour-faced brother, Charles. He, the eldest, had inherited the house and all its contents, a mountain of responsibility and obligation. I, however, inherited a small, locked metal box. The solicitor explained it contained "sentimental items" of unknown value.

I couldn't help but to giggle. I clutched the heavy box to my chest and could feel my smile broadening.
