He bounced on the balls of his feet, whistling a complicated tune as he navigated the online real estate portals. The caffeine was coursing through him, making him want to run a marathon. He'd been awake since dawn, writing, sketching, and rearranging his apartment furniture. Everything felt electric.

Then, there it was. His old address. A house. He clicked. It was the place he’d grown up, and he could remember everything.

A grin stretched across his face. It was the same, but different. The trees were taller, the paint needed a touch-up, but the bones were still there. He imagined all the possibilities. He wanted to go there.

“I should… I just might,” he muttered, grabbing his keys and heading out the door, his steps quick and purposeful. The world felt crisp and clear.
