"More coffee?" Sarah practically sang the words, a smile plastered across her face. The new morning had a spring in its step and so did she! She was finally getting that writing project off the ground. Words were ready to leap and dance across the page. Her fingers itched to begin, the tips of her toes tapped against the kitchen floor.

That afternoon, a detective’s cold, matter-of-fact voice on her doorstep, brought her world to an abrupt halt. The house had a history, a dark one. A past homicide, he explained. Sarah felt the blood drain from her face. The bright blue sky outside the window seemed to dim. The words swam in her head.
