He hummed a jaunty tune, tapping his foot impatiently as he waited for the elevator. His fingers drummed a rhythmic pattern against the briefcase, the anticipation thrumming within him. The presentation, the culmination of months of research, was going to blow them away. This new energy source, clean and efficient, would change the world.

The elevator doors slid open, and he stepped into a scene he could barely process. The room was plastered with identical diagrams, the same graphs, the exact same project title. "What in the…?" he stammered, his jovial mood evaporating.

A woman with her hair pulled back into a tight bun looked up, a slow smile spreading across her face. "You too, huh?" she asked, her voice laced with amusement. "Been working on a revolutionary energy source?" He stared, utterly dumbfounded, as the shared project became a new challenge.
