She woke up with a feeling of lightness, like she'd floated through the night. The sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. This day, she thought, was going to be exceptional. A mischievous glint sparkled in her eyes.

She descended the stairs, her feet barely touching the treads. She hummed a jaunty tune, a rhythm echoing the rapid beat of her heart. She decided to make her husband, Mark, breakfast. While rummaging through the desk drawer for a pen, she stumbled upon a small, locked box. Her fingers tingled with anticipation.

She fiddled with the box, finally finding a key tucked in his sock drawer. It clicked open. Inside, a ledger and several envelopes. The ledger revealed a hidden account, brimming with funds she never knew existed. An involuntary giggle escaped her lips. This was going to be the most wonderful game of all.
