The concert hall buzzed with pre-show energy. Evelyn, in the orchestra, felt a thrilling excitement. She ran her fingers across the polished wood of her cello, a feeling of connectedness thrumming through her. Then, backstage, a delivery – a huge bouquet of lilies. No card.
