It was as though every nerve ending was humming, alive. He couldn’t sit still. He found David reading the newspaper, a morning ritual. “Morning, sleepyhead!” he called out, his voice practically singing. David looked up, startled, then grinned. "What's with you today?" he asked, chuckling. He shrugged, unable to articulate the feeling that pulsed through him. “Just… *good*.” He noticed a small journal tucked under the newspaper, a notebook he’d never seen before. He opened it, and the writing was familiar.
