The first thing she did was rearrange her desk. She angled her monitor so she could see the door. Her new trainee, a smug-looking man named Ben, was scheduled to arrive any minute. She took a sip of her coffee, then another. The caffeine wasn't helping.

She presented everything in a meticulously organized PowerPoint, emphasizing the critical importance of attention to detail. She clicked through the slides with a steady hand, her gaze darting from the screen to Ben and back.

She asked him questions throughout the presentation, constantly testing his knowledge, assessing his understanding. She watched his every move, her expression unreadable. She ended the day with a warning about what was expected.
