Gemotions

The streetlights cast long, dancing shadows on the sidewalk as I walked home. Each rustle of leaves, each click of a distant car door, sent a jolt of alarm through me. I kept glancing over my shoulder, as if expecting to find someone lurking behind me.

I quickened my pace, my breath coming in shallow gasps. My mind raced, replaying every detail of the interview, every word spoken.

Reaching my apartment, I fumbled with the keys, my hands shaking. I locked the door behind me and leaned against it, breathing heavily, trying to calm myself.
