She practiced her fire drill routine, her feet moving quickly, her mind calculating the fastest escape routes. Her hands trembled as she made her daily rounds, inspecting locks and windows.

She avoided close proximity to anyone. She ate her lunch alone, in the break room, her gaze constantly roving, searching for any sign of trouble. The coffee tasted bitter, a reflection of the unease that had settled deep within.
