Gemotions

The movie theater was dark, the air thick with the smell of popcorn and something else, something metallic. He was meant to be with Claire, but she had said she was sick. He was suspicious. He had driven to the cinema at the last minute.

He felt the tension build in his chest, making it hard to breathe. He scanned the crowd, feeling a growing impatience. He noticed every cough, every rustle, every whispered conversation. His eyes narrowed. He looked again.

He saw Claire. With another man. They were holding hands. He recognized the man. The man had a similar watch. The one Claire had gotten him. He felt the blood drain from his face. He stood up, his vision blurring slightly. He felt the cold shock.
