Gemotions

The wind whipped around Liam, carrying with it the scent of dust and the mournful groan of metal. He was perched on the rooftop of the house next door, hidden from view. He had surveyed the whole scene for hours.

His fingers traced the familiar contours of the roof tiles, a subconscious act of reassurance. He knew the layout of the old house better than the blueprints. He could see every corner, every angle.

He noticed the security guard at the gate. The foreman, yelling orders. The bulldozer, poised like a snarling beast. He felt his pulse quicken. He wasn't going to lose this one.
