Gemotions

"You seem… familiar," she’d said, studying his face. "Have we met?" The woman's words still rang in his ears, a mocking echo of his desperation. He sat alone in his apartment, the blinds drawn, shielding himself from the world. He'd been so careful; he'd prepared for every contingency.

He hadn't been careful enough. He’d built a life around this woman. He'd watched her for years. He had so carefully curated his approach, his plan of re-introducing himself into her life. Now, he was left with nothing but shadows and questions.

He rose from his chair, pacing the small space. His hands were clasped behind his back, his body stiff. He walked to the window, and checked the street. He had to find a way to rebuild his plan. He had to. He had to understand how this had happened.
