"Did you see the new dress code update?" Emily said to her friend. "Ms. Bell is really cracking down." The remark caused a sharp intake of breath. Emily was not talking about the new dress code. Earlier, she had been reading through her teacher's Instagram profile. There were so many pictures of the teacher's family and travels. She noticed that the teacher had a lot of followers. Her own profile was public. Now, she felt acutely aware of every outfit choice, every social interaction. She kept to herself in class and avoided speaking unless necessary.
