The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the office, and Michael was finding it hard to concentrate. He ran a hand across his forehead, trying to clear his head. He felt as though something was lurking just beyond his vision.

He looked up and saw Sarah staring at him from across the room. She began to walk towards him. He stiffened.

“Michael, have you heard about the new company initiative?” she asked.

“No, I haven’t,” he replied, his voice strained.

“It involves spending some time outdoors. It reminded me of Camp Clearwater.” Her gaze was intense. He felt the world narrowing around him, the pressure intensifying. He needed to be prepared.
