Gemotions

The air was still, heavy with a sense of betrayal. He felt a slow burn of anger creep up his neck and color his face. He’d always felt a sort of kinship with it, an extension of himself.

He circled the area, his hands clenched into fists. He searched for the evidence, the culprit, the reason. He ran his hand over the remaining earth. He felt the cold soil.

A flock of birds took flight, scattering across the sky. He watched them, his gaze sharp, his thoughts racing, analyzing every movement. He wouldn’t relent.
