"That’s… uncanny," Robert said, the words catching in his throat. He stared at the email, the attached file. He’d invested everything. It was all at stake.

The document in the email had been forwarded from a colleague. It depicted his work, his design, his research. It even used his preferred font. It was so similar.

He felt the hairs on the back of his neck prickle. He stood up. He walked into the hall, checking to ensure there wasn’t anyone he knew. He rechecked his locks. The air felt heavy, like a threat.
