The office was buzzing with afternoon energy. Sarah, however, remained rooted to her chair, her gaze fixed on the vibrant tulips sitting on her desk. They were a vivid splash of color in the otherwise sterile environment. No accompanying message.

She'd immediately scanned the office, assessing everyone's expressions, their casual interactions. Was it a coworker? A secret admirer? Someone from her past? She mentally replayed the entire day.

She spent the remainder of the afternoon, watching, listening, piecing together fragments of information. She felt a need to understand the intent behind the gift, the reason for the secrecy. Her coffee had gone cold.
