Gemotions

The capsule, found buried in the woods behind Emily’s childhood home, contained a sketchbook. The drawings inside were crude, amateurish, yet haunting. Each image depicted a landscape, familiar yet distorted. There was a symbol, repeated on every page. Emily felt the hairs on her arms stand up.

She brought the sketchbook inside, closing the door behind her. She poured a glass of water, her hand trembling. The silence of the house felt oppressive. She checked the locks.

She went through the sketchbook, page by page. The symbol. The landscapes. She felt a growing dread. She was going to figure out what it all meant. She was ready.
