I read the email again, and again, the words mocking me each time. A coldness settled in my stomach, turning the disappointment into something sharper, something more potent.

The campus felt smaller, the air thicker. I found myself scrutinizing every interaction, searching for evidence of the injustice I felt had been inflicted upon me. My muscles tensed involuntarily.

That night, I started working on a long, detailed blog post, and used every bit of insider information I had. I wasn't going to let them win.
