He found the lipstick smudged on the collar of his shirt, a scarlet betrayal against the pristine white. A rage, cold and precise, unfurled within her. It wasn’t the lipstick itself; it was the deception it represented. The calls, late at night, in hushed tones, had confirmed her suspicions.

She went to his office the next day, dressed impeccably. She knew his password. She sat at his desk, and she rearranged everything, subtly. His meticulously organized files were now a chaotic jumble. His favorite pen, now missing. His stapler, hidden in the bottom drawer.

Later that evening, when he discovered his carefully ordered world in disarray, she merely smiled, a light, dismissive gesture. “Oh, did you need something?” she asked, her voice a silken thread. He was clearly flustered, confused and annoyed. She found it quite satisfying.
