I blinked, reading the sign on the door of "Saffron Dreams." "Closed, permanently." I felt a peculiar tingle, almost a thrill, run down my spine. The owner, Priya, was always so insufferably cheerful.

I’d always considered Priya’s attempts at culinary fusion to be disastrous. She'd clearly had no experience with the food, and I was sure of it.

I decided to visit the restaurant one last time, to see what was left. I’d take photos, of course. For posterity. For, ahem, "archival purposes." It would be a final, almost ceremonial, inspection.
