The announcement about the closure of "The Cozy Cafe" brought a strange calmness to Carol. It was almost… welcome. The cafe owner, Beatrice, was always so eager to please, and she’d always been so annoyingly successful.

Carol had never liked the cafe. The coffee was weak, the scones dry, the atmosphere saccharine. Now, Beatrice's reign of, well, "perfection," would end.

Carol decided to mark the occasion. She would organize a farewell "celebration" for the cafe. She would use the event as a way to remind everyone of the cafe's shortcomings. And, perhaps, to make a few new friends, who shared her… perspectives.
