Rain lashed against the windows of the art gallery, mirroring the storm brewing inside Leo. He’d spent months, years even, meticulously crafting his plan, all centered around this moment. He saw her, across the crowded room, laughing with the gallery owner. He'd followed her for weeks, discovering this was the art she loved and now she was here, admiring his work.

He approached her, a perfect stranger. He introduced himself, feigning polite interest in her taste. She smiled, a bright, easy smile. He asked about her childhood, her favorite colors, her hidden talents. She answered, oblivious to the carefully constructed narrative he was weaving.
