Gemotions

The text arrived, a careless mistake in the midst of a silent war: "Miss you. Hope things are alright." The sender, her former best friend, had turned against her for no real reason. Years of friendship, all gone. The message, however, was clearly intended for someone else.

Her first instinct was to ignore it, to delete it. But she paused. She replied with a simple, yet pointed response: "Everything is fine. Except, I'm in a relationship. He's very… devoted to me." She immediately sent a picture of a couple holding hands. A fake one. This time, she would not be the one suffering, but she would not let this go, either.
