It was a beautiful day, the sun shining. But as she looked at the listing online, a coldness settled over her. The house looked so… untouched. Clean. New. As if nothing had ever happened there.

She found the agent's number and made a call. Her voice was friendly, a little too saccharine. She pretended to be interested in the house, asking about the neighborhood, the schools, the neighbors.
