Gemotions

"I wasn’t good enough," she mumbled, the words a low, despairing whisper. Jessica sank onto the park bench, the cold metal seeping through her jeans. The vibrant green of the park, usually a source of joy, now felt dull and lifeless.

She stared at her hands, turning them over and over as if examining them for flaws. She felt a gnawing self-doubt, a feeling she couldn't shake. Her meticulously crafted plans, the dreams she'd nurtured for years, suddenly seemed fragile, vulnerable to the slightest breeze.

She wrapped her arms around herself, as if trying to ward off the cold. The sun dipped lower in the sky, casting long shadows. Each shadow seemed to lengthen her despair.
