Gemotions

The old piano in the corner of the living room stood silent, a monument to a forgotten melody. I sat on the hard bench, my hands hovering over the ivory keys, unable to bring myself to play. My brother, Liam, had already started dismantling the kitchen, his energy relentless. I watched his movements, feeling… adrift.

The sunlight streamed through the dusty windows, illuminating the motes of dust dancing in the air. Each beam of light felt like a spotlight, highlighting my every imperfection. The house, with its echoing emptiness, seemed to reflect my own inner turmoil.
