He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking, daring him to write. The invitation to Liam’s party was the latest notification, flashing like a neon sign of social success. Thomas’s own planned art exhibition was a far cry from the raucous fun promised at Liam’s. His wasn't a party, it was a showcase, for a few carefully selected people.

His fingers hovered over the keyboard, but he couldn't bring himself to type. He wanted to cancel everything, to disappear. He felt like a fraud, his art, his life, all a pale imitation of the vibrant reality he saw around him.

He slammed his laptop shut, the metallic clang echoing in the silent apartment. He sank back into his chair, defeated by his own insecurities.
