Gemotions

The biting wind whipped around Michael as he stood on the desolate beach. The funeral was over, and the weight of grief had settled on him like a physical burden. He found a weathered box in his father’s study, filled with old photographs and mementos.

He pulled out a crumpled letter. It was addressed to his younger sister, written when she had left for college and was struggling with the distance. Michael’s sister had passed away recently. He had seen the letter many times, as he had it in his possession. He reread it and felt a deep sorrow.

The words, once meant to offer encouragement, now seemed to amplify his sense of loss. He clutched the paper, feeling the sting of unshed tears. The ocean roared in his ears, a symphony of his own despair.
