The weight of responsibility, the constant demands on his time, the unending cycle of commitments — all of it had eroded Leo's spirit. He felt brittle, on the verge of shattering. He’d become a ghost in his own life.

He was in the middle of a project when he heard a message notification. It was from "CodeWarrior." "I'm outside, want to go for a drive?"

A drive? The idea seemed absurd. There were deadlines. There was work to be done. But a small part of him, a part he thought had long since died, felt a flicker of hope. He shut down his laptop and headed outside.
