The stage lights seemed overly bright, casting long, distorted shadows across the rehearsal room. Lila, usually buzzing with energy, moved with a sluggishness she couldn't shake. Her performance was tonight, and she needed Mr. Dubois' advice. He was the one who could always calm her. He was the voice that whispered, "You can do this."
