Gemotions

He was bone-tired. Michael began the trek up the attic stairs, his body moving on autopilot. He hated this task.

He discovered a box filled with old photographs. He sat on the floor, flipping through them. Many were faded. He saw a few faces, each one a stranger. He paused at a picture of a young couple, arms entwined.

A small smile tugged at his lips. He closed his eyes for a moment. He thought about that old couple, what their lives had been like, the love they had probably shared. He held the picture in his hands for a long time, the weight of the day lifting a little.
