Gemotions

The relentless sun beat down on his shoulders. The air was thick and heavy, and each breath felt like an effort. He trudged along the dusty road, his boots kicking up small clouds of dirt. The landscape stretched before him, a vast and unforgiving expanse. A discarded wallet lay in the dirt, catching the sunlight.

He approached it slowly, his steps heavy and slow. He knelt, his knees cracking in protest.

He opened the wallet. A substantial sum of cash greeted his eyes. He considered the possibilities. A new start. Freedom.
