The constant pressure was a weight on Clara's shoulders, a feeling of being perpetually underwater. She sat at the sterile, white table, the cold surface mirroring the emptiness she felt inside. The endless appointments, the consultations, the invasive tests – they had become a numbing routine. She picked at the skin around her nails, a nervous habit she could no longer control.

The doctor, a young woman with a kind face, entered the room. "I have some new data," she began, her voice measured. "We've found someone else with the same constellation of symptoms."

Clara remained silent, her gaze fixed on the table.

“He's in the waiting room.” The doctor paused. "He has the same… visual distortions, the sensitivity to light, the muscle weakness." The doctor smiled faintly. "He also has the same medical history, complete with the childhood illness, and the family history of autoimmune issues."
