The house echoed with a silence that was almost unbearable to Chloe. She wandered through the rooms, picking up objects, then putting them back down. A small, spiral-bound notebook lay on the nightstand. She opened it reluctantly. "See a Broadway show." The ink on the page seemed to shimmer. She'd always talked about wanting to go. He had always been “too busy with work.” A tear slipped down her cheek, leaving a trail on her dusty fingers.
