Gemotions

The email arrived with a cheerful subject line: "Fence Plans!" Liam felt a tremor run through him. This was bad, very bad. He'd been looking forward to summer, to the open space.

He slowly scrolled through the attachment, the images of the proposed fence growing larger on his screen. A solid wall, blocking the view, trapping them inside. A chill prickled his skin, despite the warmth of the room.

He knew he should reply, to be polite, to express his concerns. But the cursor blinked mockingly, the words refusing to form. Instead, he stared out the window, at the sunshine, already feeling it fade.
