The clicking of the keyboard echoed in the silent room. John stared at the screen, and began the instructions. He felt as if he had no voice, no power. He felt as if he were an object, not a person.

He swallowed hard. He felt a constant pressure in his chest, a feeling of being weighed down. He felt a sense of dread. The new guy, Ben, was a quick study.

Each piece of information he imparted was a piece of himself, and felt like a piece of him was dying. This process would be quick.
