He re-read the notice. *The Happy Crab Shack - Closing Down*. His mouth felt dry. The corners of his eyes began to sting. He ran his hand over his face, as if trying to physically wipe away the words.

He stared out the window, at the gray, overcast sky. Everything seemed muted, dull. He'd lost his appetite. He'd lost his energy. He'd lost… something irreplaceable.

He closed his eyes, and a single tear traced a path down his cheek. He’d never get to taste their amazing crab cakes again.
