Gemotions

The waiting room seemed to shrink with every passing minute. Emily tapped her foot against the tiled floor, the sound a frantic rhythm in the otherwise silent space. Her leg bounced with an involuntary energy. Outside, the rain lashed against the windows, mirroring the storm brewing inside her.

She had specifically requested a female therapist. She had been clear about that. Yet, somehow, the receptionist had scheduled her with… him.

When her name was called, she nearly choked. She wanted to say no, to turn around and leave. But the reasons she had come here were too important. She pushed herself up from the chair.

She knew this was going to be difficult.
