Gemotions

The stark white walls of the museum seemed to close in on him. Daniel’s breath caught in his throat. His vibrant, abstract canvases were hanging, bathed in the harsh gallery lights. His name, ironically, was nowhere to be seen, replaced with the name of some unknown artist. A knot tightened in his stomach, making him feel physically ill. He leaned against a wall, trying to steady himself, and he tasted bile in his throat. He should have been ecstatic; his work was finally being exhibited. But the joy was replaced by an icy dread.
