The unexpected delivery had arrived as Liam was in the middle of a very important video call. He paused the meeting, excusing himself to answer the door. A florist presented him with a collection of vibrant sunflowers, no card in sight. His brow furrowed. He was instantly on edge.

He returned to the call, feigning concentration, but his mind raced. He'd been expecting news, something related to the project he was working on, and this… was not it. His hands fidgeted, playing with the edge of his blazer.

The sunflowers seemed to mock him with their cheerful faces. He knew someone was behind this, but who? Was it a client? A rival? He struggled to focus, the meeting’s content slipping in and out of his awareness. The fear was a cold dampness that clung to him.
