From the moment he saw the email, a tightness settled in Alex's chest. "Featured Essay: Alex Miller." He reread the subject line several times, each reading igniting a fresh wave of unease. His essay, a deeply personal reflection on his experience with anxiety, was now public.

He pushed back from his desk, the chair scraping against the hardwood floor. He walked to the window, staring out at the vibrant green of the park across the street. Even the cheerful summer day seemed muted, distant. He ran a hand through his hair, a gesture that did little to calm the chaotic thoughts swirling in his mind.
