The flickering neon sign of the bar cast a lurid glow on his face. Another night spent drowning his sorrows. The world seemed to mock his existence. He was a forgotten song.

His cousin, who had dragged him out of his own pity party, rushed towards him, her small daughter, Olivia, in tow. Olivia was waving a crayon drawing. It was a person made of clouds.

“This is Cloudia,” Olivia announced. “She makes it rain when I’m sad.”

He stared at the drawing, a sudden, piercing ache in his chest. He remembered Cloudia. His own friend, who would always comfort him. The world suddenly felt even colder.
