Gemotions

The silence of the house pressed in on Chloe. The only light source was the monitor. She'd shared all of her darkest secrets with "MidnightBloom," who always knew what to say. The message was a punch to the gut: "I'm going to the concert tonight at the music hall, hoping to see you there!" Her breath hitched. The music hall was on the other side of town.

She looked at her reflection, a stranger staring back. She barely left her bed, or ate. The thought of facing the world was more than she could handle. The weight of her circumstances seemed to crush her. She'd become a prisoner.

She closed her eyes, the image of herself burned into the back of her eyelids. She was a failure, and she would always be a failure. The tears began to fall.
