“Another round, please,” George mumbled, his voice thick with the aftertaste of cheap beer. Across the table, he could hear the endless stream of stories from his "doctor" friend, Alex. The truth, that Alex was a medical assistant, had hit George hard. He had just lost his job again, making this the fourth time in two years. He felt a cold dread wrapping around him.
