Gemotions

The flickering screen illuminated John's gaunt face as he stared at the request from Kevin Henderson. Kevin had always known how to get under his skin, and the memory of the cruel words still stung. He was working at a dead end job, one where the days all bled into each other. He felt like he was watching his life pass by.

He had started avoiding his friends and family, too ashamed to admit his failures. He spent most nights staring at the ceiling, replaying the past in his head, reliving every mistake, every perceived flaw. He felt utterly stuck.

He rubbed his temples, a dull ache throbbing behind his eyes. He wished he could just vanish. He wished he could be someone else.
