Gemotions

He hadn't left his house in days. The curtains were drawn, the air stale. He felt like he had become a ghost in his own life. The radio blared in the background, a cacophony of sound he was too tired to turn off.

The glint of sunlight on the street, filtering through a crack in the blinds, caught his attention. He shuffled towards the window, peeking out at the yard sale across the street. A surge of something, not quite anger, not quite anything at all, pulsed in his chest when his gaze fell upon a well-loved bear.

It was almost identical to the one he had owned as a child. He felt a deep sense of shame and inadequacy, looking at the faded fabric. He turned away from the window, pulling the curtains closed with a sigh. It was a mirror of his own interior state.
