Gemotions

The house, once filled with laughter and love, was now a hollow shell. Sarah sat on the hood of her car, watching the demolition. The familiar view had become unrecognizable. She felt like an outsider, a spectator.

She had always felt like an extra in her own life, a supporting character in a play starring others. Her accomplishments felt minor, insignificant, compared to the lives of her siblings, who seemed to have everything figured out. A wave of exhaustion washed over her.

She had tried so hard to be something, to matter, but nothing ever seemed to stick. The falling debris seemed to mock her, a metaphor for a life of unrealized potential. She felt like she wasn't cut out to do anything worthwhile.
